Disclaimer: I wrote this post for The Daily Post – Daily Prompt Challenge in July. The topic that day was DEPTH. As I was writing the post, I realized it was turning out to be a rant, and so I didn’t post it at the time. It has been almost five months since I wrote the post and after having had enough time to calm down and reflect, I decided that today was the day. Nothing has changed since and based on the political climate there are stormy times ahead. Check out the post below.
The depth of their depravity knows no bounds. It is an abyss of lies, mixed with half truths. They are blatant with their disregard and deception. They know that our limited attention spans won’t allow us to decipher the truth. So they bombard us with pointless news coverage and frivolous stories to take our minds off the issues that matter. They use ‘experts’ to validate the garbage that they are pushing. They sell us fear and hopelessness and then play upon that fear. They create ‘bogeymen’ and ‘monsters’ to carry out their dastardly deeds. Then pass laws to stop the monsters that they have created. They do this because they want us to relinquish our freedom and power and give them total control.
The depth of our slumber has reached torpid levels. We need to wake up and smell the shit that surrounds us. It has already hit the fan, and the whole room is a mess. We need to wake up and see what is going on. It’s full time we stop sucking at the teat of misinformation and propaganda. Political correctness will not save any of us from the future they are creating. “Love is NOT Love,” and “All Lives DON’T Matter.” Not when it’s only one set of people being brutalized every day by the men and women sworn to protect and serve. Not when it’s only one set of people stereotyped and negatively portrayed in the media. Not when one set of individuals gets considerably longer prison sentences than another.
The depth of the brainwashing has reached new heights when Black celebrities have become apologists. Something is horribly wrong when people are blaming victims for being victimized. Something is horribly wrong when they have desensitized the majority of the population to the plight of Blacks. Across America, Black people have been dehumanized, marginalized and victimized. When Blacks are the murdered, we are criminalized and demonized in the media. Then our loved ones are paraded across the TV screens and used as pawns in media rating games.
I hope the depth of this post will not be lost in your biases and preconceived notions. I hope when you are reading this you will admit that there is truth hidden in the depths of these paragraphs. I hope you can look into the depths of your heart and see that we are facing a real crisis, and are desperately in need of change.
