Righteousness, Poetry,

A man`s hopes die before he does

I had to shed my skin from who I was

I started reading to find the truth

They stole our past to hide our roots

Our names were changed to protect the guilty

Woe to those that planned iniquity

Beware of the oppressed and their cries

They shine in the sky like fireflies

One day we all will see the light

One day we all will start to fight

the system for what it truly is

A big gorilla on our backs

That is hell bent on making life hell for Blacks

Peace is only a state of mind

A Race War is brewing; the innocent are dying

Close your eyes and open your heart

Black and White, can you tell them apart?

Power is determined by the color lines

Believe in God and see his signs

God’s glory is all around

Though it may seem like only hate and wickedness abound

They are on a mission and will never rest

They have no inner peace or happiness

but they will have to make a choice

A revolution or righteousness.

  1. I don’t think the world today quite understands the power of the word ‘revolution’. It evokes thoughts of historical events. But I see it popping up more and more with the #BlackLivesMatter protests. When people in London are protesting about something that happens anywhere in the U.S. we need to reacquaint ourselves with the definition of that word. It’s coming

    1. I think a few of us understand. The rest is either brainwashed, still asleep or just can’t be bothered.
